Who Is ESS?ESS is a network of industrial automation professionals with backgrounds in senior management working for manufacturing and distribution companies within the U.S. Each of our members have an integral understanding of how products make it from suppliers to End Users / OEMs and we use this expertise to help our clients navigate through this seemingly complex system to find the best options, remove layers of channel and reduce cost.

What Does ESS Do? ESS works directly with customers that purchase automation technology and directly infuses competition in your purchasing process from companies that make the actual technology for many of the larger brands (Origin Manufacturers). This model removes multiple layers of price inflation and gives you access to a large variety of options that you cannot get through normal channels. This allows us to provide customers with not only more options, but better pricing, and better support. In many cases, it is the same exact product made in the same exact factory....just with the original manufacturers name....not a brand label

How Does This Work?It is actually very simple. You tell ESS what part you are currently using, what key features you absolutely need, the price you would like to pay, and how many you buy a year. We then go out and find options that match up as closely as possible to all of your needs and negotiate a price and method of purchase with the manufacturers that have the best options. There are no contracts, and no cost to you as a customer as we are typically compensated by manufacturers in the same manner as their sales people are. There are multiple manufacturers within the industry that may not market themselves as well and / or being blocked by the "Big Guys" within the industry. These manufacturers provide great support, are very aggressive to access new customers, and work directly with ESS to provide alternative options for you.
How Much Does This Service Cost?We charge nothing to our customers. Even if we do a search and cant find a solution that fits your needs, you pay nothing. If you do decide to purchase something we put forth, we work with the manufacturer to either buy and resell at a minimal profit or receive a sales commission just like their regular sales people do. Almost every manufacturer will agree to this and it allows us to provide an important matchmaking service to both customers and manufacturers that may miss each other as they pass in the night. .

How Is This Different From A Distributor / Rep?Traditional distributors are almost always beholden to the top revenue generators on their line card. In the automation industry anyone who carries a top brand name has an exclusivity contract in place and risks losing that line if they promote another choice to a customer. In truth, they operate more like car dealerships than a true distribution model. This exclusivity that the manufacturers and distributors put onto each other blocks the large majority of true technology innovators and options that would help you reduce cost and improve your operations.
ESS is different than traditional channels as we do not operate in a territorial manner and instead of serving a single supplier or clause in a contract, we serve customers. Our expertise within the industry provides most suppliers with the confidence to represent them with customers that they feel they do not have access to because of the blocked channel policies within the industry. We do not have exclusivity agreements in place with any supplier and we have to freedom to work with customers in a truly unbiased manner when we put forth solutions. ESS provides true access to over 90% of the options available in the market. Other reps, and distributors are tied to exclusivity and only represent 1 or 2 brands which is less than 2%. In truth, we can provide access to almost all options (except for maybe 1 or 2 major names that we wont mention here as they do not like this model at all). |
What Can We Expect?
Our customers tell us that this is the way they wished all manufacturers interacted with them. Your team is likely spread very thin and doesn't have time to talk to every sales person that "pops in" to see you. We act as a buffer between you and these sales organizations / distributors, but also bring years of technical expertise. In addition, we negotiate pricing for you across multiple options. As we are typically bringing multiple options to the table, manufacturers compete aggressively for your business. In the end, you can expect more options, fewer layers, better pricing, and less time spent with sales people.
